Media Prima is the pioneer behind tonton, Malaysia’s popular over-the-top service which is also available in Brunei and Singapore. The video streaming portal offers advertising-supported content and has over 7.6 million registered users to date.

In Radio, the Group is represented by four stations under Media Prima Radio Networks (“MPRN”) – Fly FM, Hot FM, One FM and Kool FM. In 2017, MPRN launched Ais Kacang a podcast platform – available online and on mobile – for original audio content in Bahasa Malaysia, English and Mandarin.

The Group’s digital media subsidiary Media Prima Digital (“MPD”) was founded to innovate digital solutions and creative strategies for the Group and offers creative solutions, diversified platform services and e-commerce expertise. Media Prima Labs, a unit under Media Prima Digital, aims to extend the Group’s intellectual properties into the expanse of technological innovation and games.

In 2016, Media Prima ventured into digital and consumer-based businesses that complement its traditional media segments under its business transformation plan, Odyssey. The plan enabled the Group to generate new and sustainable revenue streams across its media platforms. This includes the launch of its successful home shopping network CJ Wow Shop and education portal FullAMark.

CJ Wow Shop is a joint-venture with South Korea’s CJ ENM, which is a merger between CJ O Shopping and CJ E&M.  CJ Wow Shop currently has a customer base of over 640,000 shoppers while its home shopping programme is available on all MPTN channels in Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin.

FullAMark is an exam-based interactive e-learning portal and is designed to facilitate the learning process outside the classroom. It currently has over 5,000 subscribers with a 52% conversion rate from free to paid subscribers.

Media Prima currently ranks third in Malaysia (behind Google and Facebook) in digital reach after the 2017 acquisition of Rev Asia Holdings, one of Southeast Asia’s leading digital media groups. The acquisition added several successful online news portals such as Says.com, Juice, OhBulan!, Rojaklah and Siraplimau into the Media Prima portfolio.
